What are Traffic Regulation Orders
Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) are legal documents that give local highway authorities and/or the police the power to enforce traffic regulations. These regulations can include moving restrictions such as one-way streets and speed limits, as well as on-street and off-street parking restrictions.

Managing the Legal Process

There is a statutory procedure for creating a TRO and we can provide
Design and consultation – Here, our team can create a proposed design for the TRO and then consult with local Councillors and parish councils, statutory consultees, such as the emergency services and sometimes other institutions such as disabled and cycling groups. Those who are likely to be affected are consulted where appropriate, such as local residents, traders and community groups, etc. After consultation, the proposal may be amended.
Advertising the TRO – Our experts will write the legal notice and ensure that it is published in the local paper and erect the legal notices on site and maintain them for at least 21 days. Any objections received we will take through the Councils’ processes. If the scheme is to go forward then we would write to any objector within 14 days of the Order being made.
Making the order – This is the final step. The TRO is now formally made and we can help introduce it on site. Any TRO software systems we can update and assist the Ticket Processing Team and CEO’s on the new restrictions, including their enforcement.
